Occupational Self-Efficacy and Innovativeness Attitudes of Physical Education and Sport Teachers

The present study aimed to analyze the differences in the variables of occupational self-efficacy and innovativeness attitudes of physical education and sports teachers and other branch teachers mutually. Analyzing the differences between the variables for physical education and sports teachers was another aim. A total of 241 teachers, 176 males, and 65 females, working in the Büyükçekmece district in the 2018-2019 academic year, participated in the research voluntarily. Research data were collected using the innovative attitude scale and professional self-efficacy scale. Mann Whitney U test and Spearman Correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data. According to the analyzed results, it was seen that the occupational self-efficacy points and innovativeness attitude/pioneering attitude subdimension points of the physical education teachers were significantly higher than the other branch teachers. Besides, self-efficacy and innovativeness attitudes of physical education and sports teachers were positively correlated in the "pioneering approach" and "open approach to innovation" subdimensions
