The aim of this study is to determine how the use of digital technology in universities differs according to demographic variables and to focus on the relationship between technology use and attitudes towards sports. The sample of the study consisted of 223 university students enrolled in different academic units. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Technology Addiction Scale, and the Attitude Toward Sports Scale. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson correlation analysis, and the findings revealed both differences and associations among the variables examined. The results indicated that there was no statistically significant difference in overall technology addiction levels based on gender; however, male students obtained significantly higher scores in the online gaming addiction sub-dimension. No significant differences were identified in technology addiction levels or attitudes toward sports with respect to age. Significant differences in technology addiction levels were observed across academic departments, with students enrolled in Sports Management and Coaching Education programs exhibiting higher addiction scores. In contrast, attitudes toward sports did not differ significantly according to academic department. In conclusion, the findings suggest that students enrolled in Faculties of Sports Sciences generally demonstrate moderate and manageable levels of technology addiction, and that these levels do not exert a pronounced negative influence on their attitudes toward sports. Furthermore, it can be concluded that while university students’ levels of technology use vary across academic departments, their attitudes toward sports remain largely independent of demographic variables.
