INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF 12 WEEKLY ECCENTRIC-PLIOMETRIC TRAINING PROGRAM ON ANTHROPOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS AND BODY FAT PERCENT OF YOUNG WRESTLERS

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 12-week eccentric-plyometric training program on body composition and body fat percentages of young wrestlers. In this study, the 15-19 age group total of 30 wrestlers who were 15 subjects and 15 control group were determined as the study population. The variables of the success rates of anthropometric parameters of the subject and control group athletes analyzed. Height, weight, fat measurements, and body measurements were taken from athletes. Skinfold sliding caliper and tape measurer were used for measurements. Durnin Womerseley formula was applied to measure body fat percentages. Obtained data were analyzed using the t-test for independent two groups with SPSS 17.00 program, with a 95% confidence level. The significance level was accepted as p< .05 and .01. According to analyze results, the plyometric training program applied after the training sessions showed that the wrestlers' body composition and body fat percentages revealed significant differences in favor of subjects percentages (p< .05). Findings obtained from this study presented that plyometric training programs have effects on body fat percentages of junior wrestlers.
