Amateur Sports Clubs Manager and Employees 'Job Satisfactions and Organizational Commitment Level

In today's complex and rapidly changing business and organization environments, both individuals and organizations tend to adjust themselves to such conditions. Realizing the importance of organizational coordination among employees, the organizations aim to obtain higher levels of competitive advantage relative to their rivals. Researches showed that there is a positive relationship between job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work efficiency. This study investigated job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels of managers and employees who work at amateur sports clubs in Kocaeli Province. In the study, Job satisfaction and Organizational commitment scales were used to obtain data. A total of 450 participants participated in the study. The reliability of data was tested by Cronbach Alpha test. It was found that alpha coefficients were 0.764 and 0.817 for job satisfaction and organizational commitment, respectively. Besides, a Shapiro-Wilk test was applied to measure whether data had a normal distribution. It was found that the data did not have a normal distribution. Mann-Whitney U test was used for two categorical variables, and the Kruskal-Wallis H test was used for three and more categorical variables. Finally, Spearman correlation analysis was used to measure the relation between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In the study, it was observed that marital status did not affect job satisfaction levels and that married individuals had higher normative commitment scores than single individuals. In contrast, the educational level did not affect both scale scores. It was observed that the graduate field variable did not affect job satisfaction levels, normative loyalty levels of participants who graduated from departments related to physical education and sports and those who graduated from education faculty were higher than other participants. According to the analyzed results, there was not any difference between job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels of managers and employees according to age. Male participants had higher points of job quality and normative commitment compared to females. As a result, the relationship between job satisfaction levels and organizational commitment levels was found to be positive in all sub-dimensions.
